We offer services using all the methods (processes, tools, expertise) needed to develop a complete complex system such as aircraft, electric vehicle or medical device. This includes all the methods to describe what it does, how it works, how to manufacture it, how to ensure it is safe/reliable and can be maintained and supported over many years.
THE CHALLENGE
Current product development activities are facing increased complexity and pressure:
- Time to market needs to get shorter and shorter
- Products feature set get richer and richer as technologies evolve rapidly
- Regulations gets tighter and tighter placing new constraints and risks on companies
Without a proper strategy this combination of increased complexity, accelerated pace and stringent surveillance can boost the costs of ER&D activities, for both the development and sustainment of products & services become significantly more costly.
WHAT WE DELIVER
Capgemini Engineering Global Service Line specialized in Systems Engineering helps its clients facing these challenges by deploying for them robust processes from concept to system, such as Requirement-based engineering, Model-based engineering, IVVQ (including virtual engineering).
We also assist them on precise and advanced topics such as digital continuity, next generation PLM, risk based assurance and board to board.

-
MAN TRUCK & BUS AG
We acted as a development partner to electrify the TGM truck. This included the complete system responsibility for the electrification of the vehicle, from concept about integration to homologation. Since September 13th 2018, a fleet of the MAN eTGM-Trucks are in field trials with member companies of the Austrian-based Council for sustainable logistics (“CNL”).

Autonomous Driving 5 main techno challenges Position Paper
Autonomous vehicles – whether for personal transport or freight delivery – could offer a potentially enormous disruption to life, business and society. The possible benefits - reductions in accidents arising from human error, reduced cost & environmental impact of transport, liberation of time currently committed to driving, and accessibility to a wider range of users - are all theoretically addressable.
