Discover our vocal assistant for patients with heart failure.
AZVO solution by Capgemini Engineering
Using voice to help people manage their health.
Digital therapeutics are transforming the healthcare landscape and inventing the medicine of tomorrow. They empower patients, clinicians, and payers with intelligent and accessible tools, using timely and relevant real-world data to permit personalized and human-centric treatments with greater transparency and improved outcomes. Patients become more involved in their medical follow-up, without time or distance constraints, while health professionals can identify at-risk patients before the deterioration of symptoms.
Capgemini Engineering has worked with medical teams to improve the education and health check-ups of patients with heart failure. We created AZVO solution, a prototype of vocal assistant to help people learn new habits at home, monitor their health, and avoid emergency hospitalization.
A SERVICE EASILY ACCESSIBLE & ALWAYS AVAILABLE
After my hospitalisation, I did not feel well. But I did not dare to call my doctor, and my condition deteriorated.
Patients often leave the hospital not fully knowing that making a few changes to their lifestyle and monitoring five key symptoms can significantly reduce their chances of being hospitalized again. Today educating patients is still primarily done at the hospital for a few patients only. Symptom monitoring through telehealth has shown great success but can be impersonal and repetitive.
Capgemini Engineering’s goal is to build a vocal assistant that provides education and telemonitoring through conversations that feel natural and personal.
REACH EVERY PATIENT & EASE THE WORK OF MEDICAL TEAMS
Telemedicine is great but it still requires a lot of staff and we can't reach as many patients as we'd like.
Azvo solution could transfer patients’ answers to doctors through an easy to read dashboard showing health professionals their patients’ health history. It could also alert the medical team of patients showing worrying symptoms and contact them in priority.
AZVO KEY FEATURES
Engage patients through natural conversation.
The vocal assistant service could be accessed via a smart speaker, but also through a regular landline phone. This portability makes it easier to reach more patients. Progress in natural language understanding enables users to interact with a system by simply talking to it. Users will be able to have a natural conversation outside of the fixed set of questions and answers currently used in telemonitoring.
Visualize your health history and easily communicate it.
As an additional motivation to answer questions, users could follow their own health history generated by the conversation with the vocal assistant. They will be able to visualize the monitoring of 5 key symptoms encouraging them to consult a doctor if needed (Fatigue, Activity limitation, Congestion, Edema, Shortness of breath). Besides, the data would be directly shared with medical teams to ensure a prompt response to people with declining health. Data would be accessible only to users and to the medical team they authorized and stored on secure hospital servers.
